Spring has sprung

I keep meaning to get on here and write something or share pictures. Then it just doesn't happen. The weather is getting nicer and I am working on my 101 in 1001. Not to mention the boys are trying to test limits which has been oh so much fun.

Let us see... what have we done after my last post....

The boys turned 17 months.

The boys didn't want their pictures taken so these are the best I could do. You can see how big they are though. This picture is them and the same bear.

We went to Grandma's in Salinas. Owen and Ethan loved being outside and playing in the dirt.

Because the weather has been so nice we have also gotten a few chances to play in the water. They LOVE the water.

Words are coming at an alarming rate. We say something once and they are repeating it. And to think not to long ago we were worried about Ethan's speech. He has a favorite phrase that we have yet to get on video but I hope to soon. I love you.
So here is a video of Owen showing off and one of Ethan being strong willed.

Who is that?

Be warned total cuteness is inside. The boys were playing in the mirrors in my room.

101 in 1001 completed some

You can always see my list HERE but I am happy to report I got to cross a few off my list.

Eat breakfast everyday for 1 month
I am proud to say that I have been eating breakfast everyday and before 10am at that. Though I have found that if I dont eat what the boys are eating they eat mine too. LOL

Go to the drive in theatre AND Eat something new
Erick and I celebrated our 5th wedding anniversary (where has the time gone). We agreed no gifts and to have a nice night out. We left as the boys were getting up from nap (my mom was sitting for us) and headed to Sac. We had a very good dinner at The Melting Pot (my something new). I now want to host a fondue party it was so good and yummy. From there we went to the drive in. We almost didnt go because 1) we thought we were going to be late 2)the GPS didnt save the address and 3) once we did find it there were 8 lines of cars 10 or so cars deep. Lucky for us the lines went quick and we parked and turned off our lights just as the previews ended. It really was a great night.

March for Babies
May 15th (Mckenzie's birthday) Stockton's March of Dimes: March for Babies was held downtown (a big thank you for those that donated). The walk was just over 4 miles and we did it in just under 2 hrs. It was fun though the walk was not at all stroller friendly.

The only casualty of the walk.

Finger paint
Owen's

Ethan's

Give the boys haircuts

As you can see the boys got summer haircuts. It was not as easy as it was last year. Ethan thought it was great fun. Owen cried the whole time.

Speech

Sometimes as a parent things get hard. As a first time parent things are hard because you dont know what to expect. Then you add on the challenge of twins and it is a whole different challenge. You always hear dont compare your kids because they are different but let me tell you it is nearly impossible. Then on the days that as a mom I am able to think of them as different people and brag on one of the boys I swear the first thing out of the person I am bragging to's mouth is "well what about the other one".

Today a speech teacher came out to see the boys through EI and I was very pleased with what she said. I am very pleased to announce that both boys are functioning above their adjusted age.

Owen is verbally and visually functioning at 21 months

Ethan is verbally at 15 months (so above adjusted and below actual and they adjust til age 2) and he is visually at 20-24 months

woo hoo go boys!

16 Months

16 months old already (yesterday). Things have been crazy around the house. After Easter we all got sick. It started with Ethan then me and Owen and finally Erick. Owen got a new tooth at the same time so things were really fun. Every weekend has been chalk full of things. We went to Apple Hill for the apple blossom fest. We took the boys to the Asperagas Festival and they got to play ball with a sea lion. They loved it. Both boys love to feed themselves with a fork or a spoon. We are also working on sitting at the table (rather then highchairs) and eating off a plate (hopefully without throwing it). Chloe had her 2nd birthday party at our house this last weekend (Happy Birthday Chloe!!!!) and the boys got to hit a pinata. OMG did Owen love it! Ethan just like that he got to be in the front yard without being put in the car. The night before Chloe's party we shaved the boys heads (hehehe). This coming weekend is the only one we have nothing going on. The following weekend is our 5th anniversary and Mother's day. Sorry this is all thrown in together I have a lot on my mind and wanted to get it all out. I will post pic soon. <3

101 in 1001

I got this from another blog and I thought it would be fun (not to mention challenging). It is called 101 in 1001. Basically it is a list of 101 things that I would like to do or accomplish in 1001 days. I started Today, April 18th 2010. 1001 days from then is January 12th 2013. Wish me luck!

The Mission:Complete 101 preset tasks in a period of 1001 days.

The Criteria:Tasks must be specific (ie. no ambiguity in the wording) with a result that is either measurable or clearly defined. Tasks must also be realistic and stretching (ie. represent some amount of work on my part).

Why 1001 Days? Many people have created lists in the past - frequently simple goals such as new year's resolutions. The key to beating procrastination is to set a deadline that is realistic. 1001 Days (about 2.75 years) is a better period of time than a year, because it allows you several seasons to complete the tasks, which is better for organizing and timing some tasks such as overseas trips or outdoor activities.
