a start of something new

Our normal schedule:

7am wake bottle 7oz
730-8 bouncer chairs (must sit up 30 min for reflux)
8-9 floor play/ baby yoga
9-11 nap
11 wake bottle 6-7 oz
1130-12 boppys (must sit up 30 min for reflux)
12-1 floor play/ tummy time
1-2 nap
2 wake bottle 7-8 oz
230-3 bouncers (must sit up 30 min for reflux)
3-6 play/tummy/yoga (if I am lucky there will be a 30 min nap in there)
6 bottle 7 oz
6-630 cuddles and snuggles with mommy and daddy
630-7 bath book and top off 1-2 oz
7 bed

Bed time is ALWAYS at 7 but they may not wake til 8 pushing back all bottles before 6 by one hr.

Well last night the boys slept in their own beds for the first time (well Ethan was in the crib and Owen in the pack n play). They slept til almost 8 so we just let them talk in there til 8. I got them up while Erick made bottles. They finished eating at about 830. We put them in their highchairs and ate breakfast ourselves. Then we did something else new. WE STARTED OATMEAL.

Before playing with spoons:

What is this thing?

I dont need your help I can eat on my own

Owen had to have his spoon taken away because he kept actually getting it in his mouth but he was gagging himself on it.

5 months old

My little men are so big. They are doing all kind of things now. Smiling, laughing, sleeping 12-13 hrs. Owen is rolling. They are both very social and love to do raspberries.

I dont have weight checks but I did have an in home eval for development. Owen passed with flying colors scoring 4-5 months in every area (they consider the boys 4 months). Ethan passed all categories but one. Ethan is behind in his motor skills. He doesnt reach, roll or track close silent objects. So he scored a 2-3 month in that area. BUT he scored a 5-6 month on one are of the category because he can sit unassisted. So he just needs a little help and we will be getting it. They are going to come and work with him in home 4 hrs a month for the next 6 months. They will evaluate his vision in 3 months and I will learn what I need to do to help him. One thing I was told was not to have him stand because he locks his body. They want him to loosen up. At least we are getting the help now.

Ready or Not, There We Go

The multiples and more blog (link in the blue square to the side) is having another great giveaway. They are giving the book "Ready or Not, There We Go, The REAL Experts' guide to the Toddler Years with Twins". I know Im not at that stage yet but reading a book like that is better done before time. To me its like waiting to look for your umbrella after you have been caught in the rain. Goodness I hope I win it or I may be forced to go buy it.

My little boys are growing up

While in Oregon we got the boys their new car seats, a bath seat and high chairs. Tonight we used the bath seat. Owen loved it. Ethan not so much. As soon as we get the new stroller the new car seats will go in. And on Saturday we are planning on starting solids. WWWWWAAAAAAA!!!! I want my little babies back!

Part 3

Ahhhh the final leg of the craziness. We got in from South Bend and the next night we put the boys to bed in their car seats. We hit the road and headed to Springfield OR. We left at 9 pm and got to where we were going early so we went to hunt down donuts to bring to my aunts for breakfast. Wouldnt you know no donuts shops. So we head to the house. The next two days we fun at my aunts letting family come to us and just visiting and playing Yahtzee. Sunday we went shopping. Got to love no sales tax.

Part 2

Part 2 of vaca was interesting. We had just gotten home and had to repack. We headed to Erick's aunts because his uncle was going to take us to the airport the next morning so we had to get up really early. Then the fun began.

At the airport....security was interesting. We forgot to take off our shoes. My bracelet beeped. The boys were up way to early. My bag got pulled because of the formula. When we got to the gate the boys ate and I went to change them. It was then I found a great surprise. I found that when they pulled my diaper bag and slammed it on the counter a can of formula opened and engulfed everything.

The flight there.... Owen was in the car seat and Ethan was in our laps. Owen woke only to eat then went back down. Ethan played and then slept. The funny part was the guy in front of Owens seat kept slamming his seat back, then forward, then back. Then he would turn around and glare at me. Hehehe like doing it over and over was going to change anything.

In South bend.... I know I should have more to write here because we were there a long time but it has been like 5 days and with my head in a haze I just dont remember. There was a lot of eating out and we went to the mall. We took the boys in a pool for the first time. The controversy about Obama speaking was interesting and disturbing to watch. Really I sent a lot of time on the phone. While we were there my sister went through a tragedy. At almost 34 weeks pregnant her uterus ruptured and her placenta detached. My sister lost 2 liters of blood, had 4 transfusions, and almost died. In the end my sister was saved but Mckenzie (the baby) didnt.

The flight home.... The boys were fussier but security went smoother. WE didnt get to pre-board which was a PITA.

Over all it was a smooth trip.

UGIS

Owen did his upper GI test today like a champ. He wasnt allowed to eat before it so we played. When we got there he was called back almost right away. He was a little wiggley for the first xray but calmed right down when they gave him the bottle of the chemical. The Dr said the pics were good and we will have the results soon.

Part 1

Part one of our trip went off without much of a hitch. The drive to Idaho wasn't nearly as long as we thought it would be. We got there it a little over 9 hrs after stopping twice for gas and once to eat. The boys kept to their schedule fairly well though they didn't really take great naps. We had a lot of fun visiting Auntie Barb and Uncle Frank. For mothers day Erick took us all out to breakfast and the boys got me a card. Then we drove around so we could be shown Idaho and I feel asleep in the car OOPS. So we are home for today and part of tomorrow and right now Erick is sleeping (he drove all night) while I am up with the boys who think it is time to start the day.

Coming soon pics of the boys with their new favorite toys from auntie barb

Happy Anniversary

In just two short hours it is my 4th wedding anniversary. Wow four years married, after a 2 year engagement (to the day) and a 7 month courtship. Four years married to a wonderful man. It seems like only yesterday. I am sitting here trying to remember my wedding and its funny what I remember. I remember all the stuff that went wrong. It rained, the flowers weren't right, people kept bugging me while I was getting ready, people in the photos because they wanted to talk to me, Erick forgetting to help me up....I could go on and on. BUT with everything that went wrong EVERYTHING went right. I got to marry an amazing guy who turned out to be an amazing father. We were made for each other.

To my wonderful husband:

You are my one and only true love. You were my first everything and you will be my last. I couldn't ask for anyone better than you. Some people search their whole lives for a love like ours and never find it. I am so happy I found you. You make everything and nothing matter all at once. To this day when I see you my heart skips a beat. Forever started 5-8-05... My love ....forever and ever. I LOVE YOU<3

Happy Birthday boys

I know what you are thinking its not their birthday they are only 4 months old. Well to that I say it all depends on when you think life begins. Ok enough about my sex life a year ago.

Today I got a great phone call. A company called today they got my referral and will be coming into the house to evaluate the boys to see how far behind on milestones they really are. I am so excited. I will get the help I need to get the boys where they need to be. Best of all they come to our house. The downside is I have to wait because of our vacation. So they boys will be tested at exactly 5 months.

Failed photo session

We went to get family photos done and get the boys first professional shoot done and let me tell you it was a fail. We did get a few shots that made it worth it.

busy busy busy

Yesterday the boys got to spend the day with Grandma (Erick's mom) while Erick and I watched Wicked in SF. The play was entertaining, the costumes were AMAZING, and the music was good. What I don't understand is how they can change the story so much as to take the dark ending and turn it happy. There were a few other aspects that bothered me like the scarecrow and tin man.

After the play we went and got the boys and headed to dinner. We went to the Rainforest Cafe. The boys loved it (well once they were both awake). It is like sensory overload in there but the boys absolutely loved having everything to look at. I was just happy we were in the under water area because there weren't all the scary monkeys. From there we headed home and they boys went to bed.

Today is miss Chloe's first birthday party. I put off my job for the party til today so I am doing it now. After the party we are going to get our first family pics done.

Tomorrow is a nutrition class and lunch with a high school friend. Then I get to spend the rest of the week getting ready for our 2 week vaca. yep busy busy busy.
