Today we had my weekly OB check. I found the 2 lbs I lost last week. I am up a total of 15 lbs again. The wait was crazy today. We got there early like always (like they ask), peed in the cup, sat down and waited. In a timely manner we were called when we stood she said Erick could sit it was just a vitals check (bp 110/70). When I joined him back in the waiting room we didnt have to wait long before we were called back. Then the wait really started. We were in the TINY exam room nearly 50 min.
One the Dr came in I asked him how big the baby is expected to be. I really love my OB. His response was ...
"How big were your boys again?"
Me: "5lb4 and 5lb9"
OB: "Wow nearly 11 lbs of baby. Well you can expect this one to be more than the boys alone and less than them together."
Me: "Thanks Doc."
So because the Dr was a smart ass the baby decided to be one too. When the Dr tried to get him on the doppler he was literally running from it. I mean you could see my stomach shift. You would hear 2-3 beats then nothing. So an u/s was called for and we got to find out.
Presentation: cephalic
Amniotic Fluid: normal
MEASUREMENTS:
BPD 37 W0D 9.13CM
HC 37 W5D
AC 34 W0D
FL 36 W1D
EFW: 2618 GRAMS 5lbs 12oz
They gave us a few pictures but they are really hard to see as there isnt much room in there.
When we got home Ethan had the following convo with me after I showed him the pictures of the baby.
Ethan: I have to play with my baby!
Me: Where is your baby?
E: hum I have to find him. (looks under the tv then at me) I think he's in your belly.
Me: oh this is your baby in my belly
E: yes, he is in your belly. You ate him. Spit him out!
Hun if it were only that easy. LOL

most embarrassing moment
I promised you and I will follow through. I told you that if I got 20 followers I would tell you my most embarrassing moment. Well I know you pulled your friends (Laura) to make this happen. So hear it goes but please dont forget to leave some love.
Could my most embarrassing moment have happened at a young age? In the first grade I was in a class that had these blocks around the rug area. One day I was leaning over the blocks during free-time. I was in a dress. Two of my male classmates took it upon themselves to come up behind me and pull my dress over my head. I was mortified. But I dont think that was the most embarrassing.
A few years later, seventh grade, I was sitting in math class. I sat in the VERY front row. I asked to be excused to go to the bathroom. When I got there I found that I had started my period for the very first time and had made a complete mess of my shorts. It was BAD. I knew I couldnt go back to class and I knew my classmates had to have noticed when I left so I headed to the office. The office couldnt just let me go home so I had to sit there. They tried everyone on my emergency contact list. They couldnt reach anyone. On the second pass through my contact list they finally got someone to answer the phone. My moms friend, he was very understanding but at work and instructed the school to let me walk home to change and he would take lunch and bring me back. I walked home the 12 blocks in blood soaked shorts. Wow that was bad but not the worst.
I am no graceful swan. Anyone that knows me in real life knows that. I fall, trip and stumble more than anyone I know. Could my most embarrassing moment have to do with that? In high school I fell more than once. The first time I was looking at a boy I thought was cute and tripped backwards over a tree root landing on my butt in a mud puddle. That was bad. Then a few years later I was walking to school on the last day of school and tripped right in front of the school. I landed in the street and ended up with a broken hand. In college I fell down the second half of a flight of stairs in front of a crowd of frat boys. I only stopped falling when I hit a wall. One time I tripped in the dining hall and ended up throwing my tray full of food some number of feet onto another person. Yeah those are bad but not the worst.
I have been walked in on in the shower, on the toilet and "in bed". I have walked out of bathrooms with skirts tucked in my panties. I have had my shirt catch on a desk and come unbuttoned. I have had a "friend" take a poll at a party as to get the popular opinion on me having sex. I vomited on everything in a 2 door bathroom during a party when no one would get out of my way (then I continued out to the street to continue my display in the gutter). I had the police show up at my work because I forgot the alarm code and set it off. Still not the worst.
During college I had a job I loved with people I am still friends with. Part of my job was what I considered a perk. I got to drive an electric golf cart. My second year at the same job they got a brand new state of the art cart. The thing was a pain to turn but it was nice. One spring day I was driving a student with a broken leg to class and went to make a turn. When I turned the wheel the steering wheel came off in my hands. When I looked up shocked the student I was driving laughed. He got out and made some comment about having to walk from there. When I looked I noticed at that exact moment an ambassador was giving a tour. They had stepped off onto the grass so I could pass and the WHOLE crowd saw what had happened. If that wasnt the worst part that came when I had to walk back to the office and tell my boss what happened to the brand new cart by handing her the steering wheel and telling her that we needed to cancel all rides for the day. I wanted to die. Then she made me walk her to where I had to leave the cart and explain again exactly what happened. It just so happened that this coincided with classes getting out so I once again had a crowd. Yep I think that takes the cake.
remember if I get:

Cheese and chairs
Today is a jammy day. The boys are teething and not feeling well. They are dripping snot and have a touch of the runs. All this is normal teething stuff that I hope to be over soon. Despite all this they are still very funny and extremely cute (when they are not destroying things).
This morning I got out the camera (something I have been bad about lately). I also got out these folding chairs that grandma got them. The two things combined made for cuteness (at least for a few min). I dont know where they learned it but the boys said "cheese" when they saw the camera.

Kisses
The boys are into kisses and love right now. They really love to love each other but it is hard to get on film. I did get the boys to give all of you kisses though.

Phrases
Owen is a great speaker. He is already copying everything we say. This is both a good thing and a bad thing. It is great that he is so interested in talking (Ethan isnt much interested)but sometimes... Today I was telling Owen to get his sippy and bring it to me. This was all fine and good. Later he had his snack bowl. He wanted more and I told him to bring it to me (he needed a butt change I could smell him from across the room). He did want the butt change just the more snack. He brought his snack bowl over, stopped about 3 feet from me, threw the bowl, pointed to it and told me "get it". While I am glad he understands and is talking and communicating his needs/wants that so isnt going to work for me. I swear he is 14 months going on 14.

Little Piggies
Today I decided that it was time to show the boys money. For their birthday we got them piggy banks. We have been saving our change and putting it in the boys banks. They get the quarters and dimes we get the pennies and nickles.
You see the other day my family came over and we were playing a few games with dimes. I hadnt gotten to putting the money away yet and was playing with it while eating lunch and the boys noticed. After lunch I decided to see what the boys would do with money. I started by bringing down their piggy banks.
Kissing the piggies hello

Putting money in the piggy

Ethan gave up but Owen loves to feed the piggy

It was a fun "lesson". Now they ask for money. HEHEHE I may regret this.

Sometimes it's a shitty job
Yesterday I told you about Ethan's little brown tub sharks. Today it it Owen's turn for a poop story I guess.
We are cut bottles cold turkey yesterday. Owen is not liking it. Ethan will drink til Owen is screaming then he stops to watch. Well Today I put the boys down for a nap. They were in nothing but a diaper because as soon as they were up we needed to get ready to leave the house. I just got out of the shower and was getting dressed what Erick headed into the boys room.
"Hun, we have an issue"
I tell him he can change it if someone is stinky. Then I hear it.
"Owen where is your diaper"
CRAP yes that is right. I dont know if it is in protest or what but Owen took off his diaper and rubbed poop on everything he could touch. Including but not limited to: his blanket, the clean sheet I put on just before nap and his teeth. mmmmmm
gag

Little brown tub shark
We took the boys to the great park near us for the first time the other day. All three of my boys had a great time.

Please disregard my annoying voice in the video!
They had so much fun. Now if only the weather were nicer so we could go more.
Sleeping babes

We check on the boys a few times a night before we head to bed ourselves. So the other night I walked in and found the boys above. They were so cute I had to take a pic. Then I had to cover Owen and uncover Ethan.
Now before we put the boys to bed on any given night we give them a bath. I strip the boys, Erick gets the water ready and we take them into the bathroom. Erick always asks if I checked for presents before handing the boys to him. Well tonight I didn't. Erick tried to hand Ethan back to me when he was found dirty. I refused and brought him wipes. We got Ethan cleaned and in the tub. As I was sitting down to clean Owen's helmet I hear Erick yell. I rush in the bathroom just to see Erick yanking Owen out of the tub.
"HE POOPED!" he yelled.
"who pooped?" I asked
"who do you think pooped!"
Just then I look down and Ethan is doing the model pose with a long, brown tub shark hanging off his butt. I laughed and helped Erick take the boys to our shower. He got them cleaned. I got the tub cleaned and the boys still got a story before bed. LOL it was a fun bath.
Tomorrow we have a lot going on that should make for an interesting blog. Dont let me forget to tell you about it.

Baby love and tag team
The boys have a few new tricks. They now baby love. What is baby love you ask? Well it is "kisses". It is more like trying to lick the other ones whole face before your whole face gets licked. They think this is the funniest thing in the world and laugh the whole time. I have to admit it is just about the cutest thing in the whole world. Ethan will give Erick and me kisses as well (when he wants to). If he doesnt want to he leans in so you kiss his head.
The boys really are growing up and developing their own personalities. Owen wants what he wants when he wants it. He will do whatever it takes to get what he wants. One example of this was the cheez-it box. I had them on the couch. Owen wanted it. So when Ethan got too close to Owen and the couch Owen decided that Ethan made a good step stool. Ethan had no problem with this and allowed Owen to use him to get on the couch. I can see I will be in real trouble soon with them working together to get what they want even if they dont need it/shouldnt have it.

Sunday lunch
Erick is watching football and nebulizing the boys so I thought I would take this time to show you a few pics I have been waiting to find the time to post and tell you a funny story. I think I will post the pics first and hope you hang around to read the story at the end because it will give you a little look into what we deal with as well as a good laugh.

I saved this pic for last for a reason lol

Today at lunch we had an interesting experience. It was barely noon and we were sitting in the Olive garden. The place wasn't super busy but it was starting to fill. We sat in the back near the bathroom and kitchen. The boys were enjoying a bread stick. About that time two tables over from us a group of old women were seated. I start making the bottles. Owen sees the bottles (he is sitting right next to me) and starts making it known that he wants that. I can hear the old women talking. The waitress is standing with them and she gathers their glasses. They had requested to be moved and were pointing at the boys. The waitress tells them that they can have this other table but there is a kid over there too. The women decide to stay. One of them then proceeds to loudly tell me that they are hungry give them a bread stick. It took a lot of self control not to say something to these women. Those that know me in real life know that Im not lying when I say that.
Lunch continued... The women continued to talk about us but the boys were being good and eating. They never were really that loud. People get seated at the table between us and the old ladies. These people were nice and talking to the boys. We are finishing up as they are getting their food. The waitress walks between the tables to pass out their meals. To do so she has her back to us and is on Owen's left. Well I guess she got to close because Owen reached out and goosed her. She screeched and jumped. When she turned around she laughed. We laughed with her when I told her on the bright side it wasnt some creepy man. LOL

Both babies look great
One year ago today I heard those words. "Both babies look great". Both. It had taken me a long time after only seeing one baby on the first u/s to get Erick to stop saying that it was wrong and we were really having twins. One year ago today he got to do his told you so dance. When we found out we were having twins it really was a shock. The first attempt at looking at the baby was not a success and we had to wait to see a special tech. We sat in the waiting room thinking after 2 years we had lost the baby we tried so hard and waited so long for. When we got back to see the special tech it wasnt long at all before she said the words that changed our lives in so many ways..."both babies look great". That phrase is as true today as it was then. My boys are wonderful and thriving. They are getting big and for the most part they are doing everything their peers are doing. BOTH BABIES LOOK GREAT! Words that will change your life in ways you cant even imagine.

Ahh the places I have been
I bet you missed me just a little. I was in a little bit of a funk and really didn't want to be around the world. So now as for where I have been. It has been a lot of just at home sitting by myself on the couch exciting I know. That really is where I have been. With the exception of the Drs office. I did get a little bit of a break and was allowed to go to my shower and 2 baby classes. I have been really bad though and haven't even touched the camera so I have no clue what pics were even taken at my shower.
Breastfeeding class:
I felt like such an outsider because I was the only one that mentioned I was having twins so I was asking questions about twins. Come to find out after the class there were two other twin mommies to be in the class. The class was ok kinda one sided and pushing the if you dont do this your a bad mommy line. Over all it made me feel like I really will be able to attempt.
Showers:
So my second shower was in Manteca and I had a lot of fun. It was really great getting out of the house and having people wait on me. We played games and got gifts but I think the highlight was before the shower even started.
We went to the restaurant early to have lunch without being watched. I was eating in the private room as my mom and sister decorated because the other hostesses were running late. Well the lady cleaning the table noticed that it was being set up for a shower and asked who was having a baby. I told her it was me and it was babies actually 2 of them. He reply takes the cake my sister and I could have died laughing. Totally serious she says "you mean they might be twins?" lol I wish now I would have come up with a reply but I didn't. I just laughed and she left the room.
The following weekend a few friends came over because they couldn't make it to the first shower and we had a girls movie and gossip day and it was fun.
Baby Care class:
This class was more for Erick and he was excited for it. I think he learned a few things but overall we made fun of the videos that were way out of date. The most fun thing was that before the class they had dolls set up ad Erick got to learn how to swaddle using a regular blanket. He was really good except he kept banging the dolls head on the table. lol.
Drs appointment:
I gained weight. WOO HOO I was very excited. The Dr said I am measuring 41cm. I have to go in every Monday in addition to my Wed. appointments now. On Mondays I have to go to the hospital though for NSTs. The Dr said I could come into the office and do them but they take a lot longer because they would have to do one baby then the other. lol no thank you I will go to the hospital. I am now allowed to not just stay home as long as I extremely limit walking and standing. What that means is I can go out and see the world as long as I do it from a seated position. We can now take drives or go out to dinner or the movies. Which brings me to my next place I have been.
The movies:
Ok so last night DH took me to the movie to see Eagle Eye. Well these 3 boys (maybe 6th grade) sit behind us. When the movie was over they go down one set of stairs so we go down the other. Erick beat them but they were nice and stopped and let me go with him. I thanked them.
I was thinking what little gentlemen. I could hear him telling his mom "look how pregnant she is" (the 3 boys 3 moms were sitting in front of us). I heard his mom tell him how nice it was for him to let me go first and everything. As we were walking out I turn to look behind me and the little ass is making fun of the way I am walking. He had his hands out as far as they could go and was leaning back and waddling.
BTW the movie was good.
I know I need to get some new pics up. Shower, belly, baby, and whatnot. Maybe sometime this week. Right now my goal is to do the thank you note that have been looking at me for 3 weeks now. Once I get those done I need to get my Christmas cards done so they can be mailed on Wed. We never gave out our new address so I want to get them out so people have it. My goal is to be the first card anyone gets.

My goal is to be the first card anyone gets.

found this and thought it was funny
Dear Non-Pregnant Person,
I hope you find these guidelines helpful in your interactions with pregnant women as failing to follow them may result in serious physical harm. ..
If you are thinking, surely she doesn't mean me- then you should probably read this twice.
1) The appropriate response to a couple telling you they are having ababy is "Congratulations!" with enthusiasm.
Any other response makes you an a$$
2) Through the wonders of science, we now know that babies are made ONLY by the mother and father- not grandparents. Unless the baby is in your uterus or you are the man that helped put it there, you may not ever use the phrase "my baby".
3) On the same note, unless you made the baby as defined in 2, the pregnancy, birth and raising of the child are not about you.You do not have input. No one wants to hear your opinion unless they ask for it. The same goes for the name of the baby.
4) The body of a pregnant women should be treated the same as any other body. You would not randomly touch someone's stomach if they were not pregnant, nor would you inquire into the condition of their uterus, cervix or how they plan to use their breasts.Pregnancy does not remove all traces of privacy from a woman.
5) Likewise, no women wants to hear comments on her weight- ever.A pregnant woman does not find it flattering that you think she is about is pop, must be having twins, looks swollen or has gained weight in her face.Telling her she looks too small only makes her worry that she is somehow starving her baby. Making such comments invite her to critique your physical appearance and you may not act offended. The only acceptable comment on appearance is "You look fabulous!".
6) By the time we are 20-30 years old, most of us have picked up on thefact that the summer is hot. We are hot every summer when we are not pregnant. We don't need you to point out that we will be miserably hot before the baby comes.
7) There is a reason that tickets to L&D are not yet sold on Ticketmaster. Childbirth is actually not a public event. It may soundcrazy, but some women really do not relish the idea of their mother, MIL or a host of other family members seeing their bare butt and genitals. Also, some people simply feel like the birth of their child is a private and emotional moment to be shared only by the parents.Like everything else in life, unless you receive an invitation, you are NOT invited. This includes doctor appointments, ultrasounds, labor, delivery, the hospital and the parents home. You do not decide if you will be there for the birth or if you will move in with the new parents to "help out".If your assistance is desired, rest assured that you willbe asked for it.
9) If you are asked to help after the birth, this means you should cleanup the house, help with cooking meals, and generally stay out of the way.Holding the baby more than the parents, interfering withbreastfeeding and sleeping schedules and making a woman who is still leaking fluid from multiple locations lift a finger in housework is not helping.
10) The only people entitled to time with the baby are the parents.Whether they choose to have you at the hospital for the birth or ask for you to wait three weeks to visit, appreciate that you are are being given the privilege of seeing their child.Complaining or showing disappointment only encourages the parents to include you less.I hope this helps- it sure makes us feel better.
