Aiden's birth story

Aiden is sleeping and the boys are watching a movie in their room so I am going to take this chance to write this rather than taking a nap or cleaning house.

August 14th was a very difficult day for me. The day before my planned c-section. It was spent making sure everything was ready. Cleaning, organizing, notes, lists, crying, more cleaning and even a little cooking. The crying was the most difficult part. I could not stop. Owen and Ethan knew the basics of what was going to happen but they couldnt be ready. We were changing their world without them really knowing. Every time I looked at them I cried and they noticed. They kept hugging me and that made me cry harder. By the time they were in bed for the night I was exhausted.

Sleep never came. We had to be at the hospital at 530a for prep. Every time I closed my eyes I would think of something else that I should do before I was gone for a few days. At 230 I was still up doing things. At 330 the alarm went off so I could shower. At 430 we left and by 5 we were in the hospital. Because we were early they didnt have a room ready for us (they were just putting it together). As soon as we got in a room I had Erick snap one last pregnancy photo.

No sooner did Erick snap the picture did the nurse come back and say we were moving rooms. Can I just say now that I HATED this nurse. She was just my prep nurse and not part of my team but she drove me batty. She talked to me like I was a kid "ok mama time to go peepee in the cup" Anyway we get into our new room and get all hooked up. I requested that I not get cathed til in the OR and after my spinal (so much better). BUT I reacted to the IV and almost blacked out. That was new. Erick said I turned pale and looked scared (I was).

My OB came in as soon as he got there. He had starbucks. It smelled so good because I hadnt eaten in hours. He said they were just finishing prep and we were waiting on one last member of the team to show up so we were running a little late.

Once it was time they walked us to another room. They told Erick to wait there and I followed the nurse into the OR. I told them my horror stories about almost being rolled off the table last time and she promised that it wouldnt happen. I also told her I didnt want my left arm strapped and she oked that as well. The spinal was difficult again. He kept hitting a nerve and this would send a shooting pain into my right hip/butt. He didnt take as many attempts as the boys did but this hurt a lot worse. The nurse holding me kept talking me through it and even refused to leave me when another nurse asked her for help.

It wasnt long til I was numb, cathed, and lying on my back getting basted with iodine. Then it wasnt long til they were started and Erick was brought in. Some of the next parts are a little fuzzy but the just of it is I started to get cold, in getting cold my nose started running, because of that I started snuffing, this caused my tummy to fill with yuck and make me feel sick. Eventually this led to me spitting up.

A planned c/s is a lot different than an emergency one. For one everyone is in a better mood and a lot more talkative. They also take more time. I was told it was 17min from start time to baby cry. Well this didnt go as planned for the OB. He had to clean up my scar tissue and things took a little longer to get through. BUT I did hear some interesting stories LOL.

At 813 we heard it. Aiden Michael was here. Erick even got to cut the cord.

Aiden's apgars were 9 and 9 he weighed in at 6lb 15oz and 19in long.

Erick went with Aiden to do skin to skin while I was closed up. Even this took longer than they thought. My BP dropped way way low. When I got into recovery they brought Aiden and Erick to me but I wasnt allowed to hold him yet because they didnt want me up. My BP was still VERY low (in the 90or80 over 50or60 range). When they let me try to set up it dropped again and I had to lie flat again. Eventually they got me sitting and I got to attempt to feed Aiden. I got the itchies again and scratched off my lip under my nose even with being given Benidryl (sp?).

Eventually we got moved into our final room. I had to have liquid diet for 2 meals but Aiden was here and beautiful.

Around noon Erick left for lunch with his mom then she came back with him to visit. At 4 my mom showed as did a friend and at 5 Erick came back with the boys.

The boys were so excited to meet Aiden. They had picked out gifts for him. Aiden had gifts for the boys too. BUT I must admit as cute as it was having the boys at the hospital it was just as hard and even harder to have them leave without me and Aiden.

Over the next few days more people came to visit.

Aiden also spent some time under the lights. The nice thing was that he stayed in my room for it.

Aiden was born on Monday and on Friday we finally got to go home.

Our homecoming was so cute. The boys and my mom made a sign for the wall that said Welcome home Aiden. The boys colored hearts and put stickers on them. For the next 3 days Owen made us take Aiden to the sign so he could show his brother.

Where's the baby?

Today we had my weekly OB check. I found the 2 lbs I lost last week. I am up a total of 15 lbs again. The wait was crazy today. We got there early like always (like they ask), peed in the cup, sat down and waited. In a timely manner we were called when we stood she said Erick could sit it was just a vitals check (bp 110/70). When I joined him back in the waiting room we didnt have to wait long before we were called back. Then the wait really started. We were in the TINY exam room nearly 50 min.

One the Dr came in I asked him how big the baby is expected to be. I really love my OB. His response was ...

"How big were your boys again?"
Me: "5lb4 and 5lb9"
OB: "Wow nearly 11 lbs of baby. Well you can expect this one to be more than the boys alone and less than them together."
Me: "Thanks Doc."

So because the Dr was a smart ass the baby decided to be one too. When the Dr tried to get him on the doppler he was literally running from it. I mean you could see my stomach shift. You would hear 2-3 beats then nothing. So an u/s was called for and we got to find out.

Presentation: cephalic

Amniotic Fluid: normal

MEASUREMENTS:

BPD 37 W0D 9.13CM
HC 37 W5D
AC 34 W0D
FL 36 W1D

EFW: 2618 GRAMS 5lbs 12oz

They gave us a few pictures but they are really hard to see as there isnt much room in there.

When we got home Ethan had the following convo with me after I showed him the pictures of the baby.

Ethan: I have to play with my baby!
Me: Where is your baby?
E: hum I have to find him. (looks under the tv then at me) I think he's in your belly.
Me: oh this is your baby in my belly
E: yes, he is in your belly. You ate him. Spit him out!

Hun if it were only that easy. LOL

appointment and hospital rules

This morning I had another appointment with the OB. First was the scale and I lost 2lbs in the last 2 weeks. I am now up a total of 13lbs (or 7lbs depending on which nurse and what date they are using). My blood pressure was good at 110/70. I got my first internal check along with my group B strep culture. My cervix is closed tight and still long. The OB says he doubts I will have any trouble making it to my c-section. Speaking of c-section.... It is going to be Aug 15th at 7:30 am (provided we dont get bumped). I have my pre op with the OB Aug 10th and with the hospital on Aug 14th. I will also have a phone interview with the hospital sometime next week.

This time we are happy to have visitors at the hospital. On Aug 15th we are asking that visitors dont come before 1 and leave by 5. This will give us time to get settled in the room and hopefully get me out of bed. The leaving by 5 is because the boys will be coming to visit then.

Normal visiting hours are from 11a-8p. Visitors are limited to 2 at a time and no one under 16. My cell will be on as will Erick's if you want to call to find out if there is room to visit. 24-hour patient and visitor parking is available in the parking lot across the street from the hospital at the Northwest corner of Maple and California Streets. The underground parking garage on Maple Street is open from 5 a.m. to 9 p.m. The cost for parking in either lot is $5 per vehicle, per day. Anyone with a Handicapped placard can access our parking lots at no charge. The Emergency Department parking lot on Maple Street is reserved only for patients seeking emergency medical assistance.

Meal times for the hospital are...
Breakfast 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 a.m.
Lunch 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
Dinner 5:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.
please avoid these times unless you want to watch me eat.

OB Check today

I am almost 32 weeks along now and am seeing the OB every 2 weeks. Today I got to the OB and it was crowded. I expected a wait. When we checked in I headed to the bathroom and Erick picked out something to read. I have to admit that it is getting harder and harder to get a sample in that tiny cup without making a mess. BUT that isnt something worth talking about. I came out with to sit with Erick and was called instantly...surprise! I guess my ob wasnt as busy as the others in the office today. So we head to the back and I get on the scale. dun dun dun.... up 2 lbs in the last 2 weeks. This means I am up a total of 15 lbs total for the pregnancy. Woo hoo not bad at all. Blood pressure was 108/60.

The Dr always asks if we have any question. I didnt but Erick did. He didnt want to speak up so I did the talking. I told the ob about the few contraction episodes I have had. His exact words were "You know your body better than anyone. You know when you need to call in or be seen and we can always squeeze you in". I think that really made Erick feel better (though he has still been a butt all day). We hear the heart again nice and strong. We were once again confirmed for Aug 15th (still dont have a time) and told see you in 2 weeks. Really I think we were at the OB maybe 20 min total. :)

30 weeks and all is...busy

Today I am 30 weeks.

Yep it looks like there is a baby in there. LOL

This past Thursday I saw the OB. Everything is going good. I am only up 13 lbs and my blood pressure was 112/70 so good as well. I am now going to be seen every 2 weeks. My pelvic bone is loosening up and is starting to become painful at times. BUT at least it isnt popping...yet. The OB said all he can do is give me vicodin. I didnt want it so I turned him down. We are still on track for AUG 15 being this little mans birthday.

Tonight we went on a hospital tour. We are delivering at the same hospital as the boys but they did a complete new unit/ward for women and babies. We learned all about the new policies and are very excited about delivering there. They walked us through a presentation telling us all about their new "baby friendly" status. They have a breastfeeding group that meets every Wednesday at 1pm. They are very much breast is best and you have to sign papers in order for your baby to be given a pacci or a bottle. The do skin to skin contact as soon as it is safe for mommy/baby. They have a nursery but it is only used for hearing tests or if the baby has an issue. Other than that the baby rooms with you at all times (even if under bili lights). Best part all rooms are private! That in and of itself is a HUGE blessing.

The hospital has also changed its visiting hours and policies. If you would like to know these please contact Erick and he will inform you.

All week

All week I have been trying to write this blog. All week I have been told by blogger sorry we are down try again later. Now it is 6 days after the belly picture and 5 days after the u/s and it seems really silly to tell you about it.

On Monday last I took a belly picture...
26 weeks

On Tuesday Erick and I headed to the OB for my monthly check and an u/s. I put on another 3lbs so I am up a total of 12 lbs now. The Dr says I can gain 12 more and he would still be happy. My blood pressure is good. I passed my GD test. I signed the paperwork to make this our last baby. I go back in 4 weeks. After that appointment I start going every 2 weeks. My OBs office holds a drawing every month. Whenever you go in you fill out a paper and put your name in. Last month my only appointment was on the 29th. I guess that was lucky because I got a call saying I won the prize basket just before my appointment. After I scheduled my appointment they handed me my basket. It is AWESOME. It had a cooler bag, diaper bag, formula, coupons, books, milk storage bottles and more.

And because I know this is what you really want u/s pics

Short and sweet

We had my 18-19 week check today. The Dr was running about 20 min late. I am up 3 lbs from my last appointment (still down in total weight). We finally see the Dr and he walks in and asks if everything is good and do we have any concerns or questions. We say no and he asks "do you want to see your baby today?" We say sure and he walks out to set it up. We wait a bit and are walked to the U/S room. She asks why we are getting the u/s so early. We told her because he offered it. She gets to work. Baby looks good. She is pointing things out. She asks us if we want to know the gender. We tell her we would like her to write it down but dont want to know. She says she has a guess but isnt 100% sure. She also says she is having trouble seeing the face so we will get another u/s soon so we decide to just wait. She has me clean up and takes us to a room to wait for my OB. My OB comes in all smiles and says "we saw the gender? I know so I am going to make this fast before I spill it". he then tells us everything they could see looked good, downs and everything is low, he will see us in 4 weeks with another u/s at 27weeks.

We only got 2 shots of the baby this time here is the best one. Below that is the official report on the ultrasound.

back seat bloging

Did you miss me? I know I am a bad blogger. Life tends to get in the way of keeping others involved or informed of life.

Life: I am on a total spring cleaning kick. So far I have finished the boys room, the 2 front most closets, both bathroom, and one of our bedroom closets. Not to mention when I sent the boys and Erick away for the weekend so I could shampoo the carpets, organize the toys and rearrange the living room. Erick has been busy with work as usual.

The boys: Potty training has entered the house. Ethan is really good and Owen likes candy. This fills my days most days. Trips to the bathroom, washing hands, next kid and repeat. It never fails that if one had to go they both do. Heaven forbid I have to go. Owen will argue with you that it is his turn to go. They are so smart and so different. Ethan loves to sing and read. Owen is a mans man and is rough but is also a wimp and cant take what he dishes.

The pregnancy: I have to admit that being pregnant with one is a lot different than with 2. And I also think the first 1/2 of pregnancy is boring. People always ask how you are and whats going on but really nothing is going on and no one wants to hear about gas. Now things are starting to get interesting. This week we can feel the baby from the outside. Erick has felt it a few times. This baby for sure likes the attention more than the boys did.

I have an appointment Friday and that is when we will get the date for my next u/s. Many of you know but for those that dont know....Erick and I have decided to not only find out the gender this time but to let you all in on it. May 21st we are going to have a party to announce. I cant wait to have some fun and food with friends.

Quick appointment

Today I am 14w4d. I was a lot better at keeping the blog updated with the boys but here it goes. I had my second appointment with the OB today. It was seriously the fastest appointment EVER. With a twin pregnancy you get so spoiled. I got an ultrasound at every appointment plus the n/t, the anatomy scan, and BPPs. This pregnancy has been treated so different. Today I spent more time trying to get into the bathroom to give my urine sample than I did with the OB. It was seriously handshake, paperwork, heartbeat, handshake and out the door see you in 4 weeks.

Paperwork- AFP blood draw next week.

Heartbeat- I love when DRs dont listen. We got all excited we were going to get to hear the heartbeat for the first time. I pull down my pants and he loads me up with goo. I tell him exactly where the ultrasound tech has been finding the baby. He tells me the tech has a better machine than the little doppler. He looks for the baby and finally goes to the spot I said. We hear the HB for a few seconds then the baby decided it was done being nice and moved.

We go back in 4 weeks and then we will schedule the anatomy scan. Really we are not finding out the gender this time. This is our last pregnancy and we want the big surprise at the end. Not even Erick and I will know this time. I hope you all understand (and if you dont to bad) but we also will not be telling anyone the names we are batting around or eventually decide on.

Controlling my hormones

This has been interesting as of late. I have always been an emotional person (my mom and sister can confirm that). And I don't remember being this way when I was pregnant with the boys but I can go from normal to hormonal in like 4 seconds now. The teny tiniest things are setting me off. Things that before I could just hold back on there is no control over. My verbal filter is almost non-existent. Everyone within ten feet of me knows how I feel at every moment. Poor Erick.

Out of the Closet

Today was a very interesting day. In some ways I had a strange case of dejavu. My mom came over this morning to watch the boys. They were great and even waved good-bye as Erick and I left.

We headed to my appointment. I am down 6 lbs. I see the Dr and my BP is good. I get my pelvic and pap done then they attempted an ultrasound. Nothing. Finish the exam and wait to see an ultrasound tech.

ONE beautiful little baby. Waving at us. I am measuring right on track at 10 weeks 3 days. With a heart rate of 142. I am due the end of Aug. If I make it my c-section will be at 39 weeks.

Now you are in on my secret. Dont forget to leave some love. My next u/s is in 3 weeks.

More you missed

So I have a secret. The reason I hadnt been blogging was because a large portion of life was a secret. In May Erick and I tried to get my IUD out. There was an insurance snag and I couldnt get it out until July. From there we started Testing all over again to try for number 3. After the testing was done I was told I was still broken. I ended up having to take provera. The Dr put me on Metformin. Then when we were ready we started Clomid again. Our first cycle was a bust. I didnt even ovulate. So they upped the dose.

Cycle #2 on Clomid was interesting. 100mg is a lot harder on the body than the 50mg. I did everything I was told to and on cycle day 21 I got my blood work. My progesterone was 18.6 indicating that I ovulated and strongly (if you remember the cycle I got pregnant with the boys my progesterone was 13.1). So on cycle day 26 I had a quant. HcG it came back less than 5 (cycle a bust).

Well 5 days later there were still no signs that the cycle was ending. I took the last test I had in the house. BUT at that exact moment the boys decided to wake up and make something crash so I put the test down and ran out of the bathroom. I had to feed, change and do the other morning duties so I didnt get to read the test. 30 min later I finally get back into the bathroom to read the test. I see 2 lines. Well crap! 2 lines and they dont count because it was after the time limit on the test. I call a friend and she rushes over to bring me another test. As it happens when she went to the store digitals were cheaper so she got them. I take the test and there is no not. I leave to go get a blood draw. 4 hours later I get the call. My beta came back at 149. IM PREGNANT. Two days later I go in again, get the results. My double time is 39.34 hrs my new beta is 341. So far so good.

1 perfect baby

Ultrasounds are exciting and terrifying all at once. You go in and you lay down. If it is early you have to take of your pants. If you are lucky you have someone with you in case the news isnt great or in case it is outstanding. Then the Dr comes in and in my case puts the wand in (I have never seen Erick's eyes so big) and you get to see it. A perfect baby. Two years ago our journey of trying to get pregnant and all the difficulty was pushed aside as we viewed our perfect little baby. For the next for weeks we were blissfully ignorant as to what lay in store for us. But in that instant of seeing what we created on that screen our worlds changed. It was real and I was pregnant.

*** Sorry if I fooled you but nope this is about the boys and I am not currently pregnant***

Little brown tub shark

We took the boys to the great park near us for the first time the other day. All three of my boys had a great time.

Please disregard my annoying voice in the video!

They had so much fun. Now if only the weather were nicer so we could go more.

Sleeping babes

We check on the boys a few times a night before we head to bed ourselves. So the other night I walked in and found the boys above. They were so cute I had to take a pic. Then I had to cover Owen and uncover Ethan.

Now before we put the boys to bed on any given night we give them a bath. I strip the boys, Erick gets the water ready and we take them into the bathroom. Erick always asks if I checked for presents before handing the boys to him. Well tonight I didn't. Erick tried to hand Ethan back to me when he was found dirty. I refused and brought him wipes. We got Ethan cleaned and in the tub. As I was sitting down to clean Owen's helmet I hear Erick yell. I rush in the bathroom just to see Erick yanking Owen out of the tub.
"HE POOPED!" he yelled.
"who pooped?" I asked
"who do you think pooped!"
Just then I look down and Ethan is doing the model pose with a long, brown tub shark hanging off his butt. I laughed and helped Erick take the boys to our shower. He got them cleaned. I got the tub cleaned and the boys still got a story before bed. LOL it was a fun bath.

Tomorrow we have a lot going on that should make for an interesting blog. Dont let me forget to tell you about it.

Both babies look great

One year ago today I heard those words. "Both babies look great". Both. It had taken me a long time after only seeing one baby on the first u/s to get Erick to stop saying that it was wrong and we were really having twins. One year ago today he got to do his told you so dance. When we found out we were having twins it really was a shock. The first attempt at looking at the baby was not a success and we had to wait to see a special tech. We sat in the waiting room thinking after 2 years we had lost the baby we tried so hard and waited so long for. When we got back to see the special tech it wasnt long at all before she said the words that changed our lives in so many ways..."both babies look great". That phrase is as true today as it was then. My boys are wonderful and thriving. They are getting big and for the most part they are doing everything their peers are doing. BOTH BABIES LOOK GREAT! Words that will change your life in ways you cant even imagine.

We have boys

About the boys
So we are home now but I know you all want to know everything that has happened before now. Well I went in for an NST and Erick came with me at 8am 12-27-08. He had been to only one before then and we were there for 6 hrs for observation. This was my follow up to that appointment and Erick walked in and said that if we were going to be there another 6 hrs he didnt want to leave without the babies. Well about 20 min later they came in and said I was having some contractions and once again baby b's heart rate was dropping we were waiting to hear back from a call put into the dr. About 10 min later I was being told Erick got is wish. The Dr was happy that I was 36 weeks and didnt want to wait any longer. We were told to get me changes and I would be going in for my c-section at noon.

I got ready and Erick and I were talking. We were both excited and nervous. The Dr came in to talk to me about 930 he said he was ready and to get me ready. About that time though the lady next door started pushing so I got to wait. During the wait I met everyone and had everything explained to me. I also go preped and all that that entails. Just before 10 they came in and walked me to the OR across the hall. Erick had to wait (he said he paced the whole time). They sat me on the table and started to give me the spinal. He couldnt find the space it needed to go (i was warned that I may need to be put under). On the 7th (yes you read that right) time I poked me it worked. He said my spine was so deep it took the whole needle. They laid me down fast almost rolling me off the other side of the table. All of a sudden the room was full of people (11 medical staff). Erick was brought in. He sat by my head and they let me keep my had unstrapped so that Erick could hold it. At 10:29am they told Erick to stand and quick. 3 seconds later I heard a cry and Erick looked at me with the biggest grin. Owen Carlos was born weighing in at 5lb 4oz 18.5 in long. The one Dr then told everyone to stand back for the splash. Erick cringed and then smiled. There was another cry and at 10:30 (really 10:29 and seconds) Ethan Joseph was born 5lb 9oz 18.5in. I got to see and kiss the boys and off they went to be monitored. Erick went with the boys and I laid on the table crying while getting stitched.

Recovery was an hour long in a tiny room with Erick in and out and a nurse filling out the paperwork that didnt get done before surgery like it should have. Then I was taken to my first room. The babies were still in the NICU for observation and people were in and out watching me. This is where things get fuzzy. my mom and in-laws came to visit. They all got to meet the babies before me because they could walk to the NICU and I couldnt. It would be 8pm before I really got to meet Owen. They then told me it would be a little longer til I would get to meet Ethan. At 10 they finally got to meet my little man but I was told he couldnt stay with me. Erick stayed with me til 2 even though visiting wasnt allowed after 10 we were overlooked and it was great int he private room. Owen slept on my chest the whole night. After lunch the next day they finally brought Ethan to stay.

The rest of my stay was a sad one because the boys were taken away from me again due to jondice (sp?) and because I didnt have the boys I lost my private room. That is a long sad story. They wanted to send me home on Tuesday (12-30) but when I told them I was attempting to establish breastfeeding they said I could stay. Not long after that the Pedi came in and told me she was switching both boys formula because they were not doing as well as she would have liked and Ethan may not get to go home right now. He lost 5oz and was spitting up everything we were giving him whether it was breast or formula. This caused me a lot of tears. There was no way I wanted to come home with only one of my babies. After more crying and talking with Erick we decided that i would stop pumping and breastfeeding and just worry about the boys gaining weight and getting big and fat. This was a very hard choice for me to make and even trying to type this out I am crying. I so wanted to be able to breastfeed but to be honest it was killing me as well. In order to do it with the boys under the billy lights they would bring me one baby I had 30 min to feed him any way I chose. If the baby was put to breast I had to use the last 10 min to give him formula. Then I would walk (if thats even what you can call it) to the nursery with baby 1 and sit in the nursery to feed baby 2. Then I would return to my room and pump for 40 min. when I was done I walked back to the nursery and gave them the breast milk. Then I had 1 hr and 20 min to go to the bathroom, shower eat or sleep. Even with doing this Ethan was still getting sick.

It was not until noon on my last day there that I knew for sure both boys were coming home with me. Erick got up early and get everything ready then sat at the hospital with me. Finally at 2:30pm on New years Eve after getting my staples out all 4 of us got to come home together.

Our first night was a rough one as we were given very specific instructions on feedings and amounts but we made it through it and are doing great.

not so thrilled

So today I had an appointment with a doctor in the practice that I had yet to meet. The doctor suggested it might be a good idea to meet him because he will be on call New Years Eve and day. Then my normal Dr said he was a nice guy and kinda looked like Santa. So all week I was kinda excited about meeting Santa lol. The appointment did not live up to the excitement though.

First we get there and it says out of all the doctors he is delayed. I am thinking great now I get to wait god knows how long. I wasnt waiting long the sign was wrong as was everything else from that point on. They took my weight +7 lbs in 5 days. OUCH. Im still not even up 30 but still. Then she had me stand in the hall and wait for the bathroom to be cleaned in order to leave a urine sample. Finally rather then show me to the room she pointed and told me last door down the hall. The last door down the hall was a supply closet. So I am sitting in the room and she finally comes in to take my blood pressure (117/70) and starts asking me about the baby. I nicely tell her babies. She tells me she feels sorry for me and asks if I have lots of help at home. Then She said she was glad she didnt have twins. At this point I am ignoring her. She hands me a blanket and tells me to undress from the waste down and starts to walk out. I give her a puzzled look I was told no internals yet because they dont want to set me off. She then looks in my chart and asks me if I have had the group B test. I say no. She said waste down preps for it and walks out. Isnt that something she should know before telling someone to undress? What was she expecting the Dr to need me undressed for he didnt do an internal? So I am now sitting there undressed and waiting thinking great this now this appointment is hi nice to meet you let me look under the hood.

Finally the doctor comes in he says something about the baby. I look at him and say babies its twins. To that he replies and I quote "I was wondering why you were so huge". Um excuse me? Im not even up 30 lbs yes I know I am big but didnt you bother to peek in the chart of a new patient especially if you were wondering something. So at this point I am peeved. I dont even care anymore. He asks me what position they are in and I tell him I dont know the last time that was checked was 11-25 and we know they arnt in the same places now. To that he starts arguing that no what was I told at my biophysical profiles (BPP). I try to tell him I am not getting BPPs only weekly NSTs. He argues again telling me I should be biweekly. OK thats nice but that was not what was ordered for me. So he orders it (ie writes it on my chart). He then hands me my chart and tells me to give my chart to the nurse and make sure she calls it in. When did this become my job? I did though because I want to see the babies. Yes that is a true accounting no fudging account of my visit today.

Well I made it

I have made it on a few fronts. I am 34 weeks and the Dr is very happy that I made it this far. I made it through my first day off the Terbutaline without a trip to the hospital (knock on wood). Christmas is ready done and wrapped waiting under the tree for the people they need to go home with. All the stuff the twins need in the first few days is ready and washed. I have made it to a point where I am happy and comfortable that anything that is left to be done Erick could handle if it came down to that.

I look forward to the next few weeks and getting to spend more time with Erick between that half days and whole days he has off for the holidays. I am also really looking forward to meeting Erick's coworkers this coming Friday. Because He is at a new job I haven't met a single person he works with. Mostly I look forward to getting out of the house. I am lucky Erick now understands my cabin fever and he has been coming home and suggesting we go for drives to look at the lights on the houses. This is my new favorite past time. I have always loved the lights but I have much more appreciation for them now.

There is an end is sight

First off TODAY IS MY BIRTHDAY!!!!!!

Ok now that that is out. Today I had an appointment. I gained and now I am at +25 lbs (23 if you ask some of the Drs in the practice). I am very happy with that. So the Dr finally comes in and is doing the lets feel the babies thing and pushing on my belly and no joke he says "my god that is a lot of baby in there!! Oh I mean babies." Thanks I know I am huge and most of it is them that means they are huge. So he says I go off the Turb. on Sat but they still want to keep me from going into labor so go in when I feel I need to so they can stop it. He asked if we had set a date for my c-section (babies are both breach). No we hadnt even talked about it. Well he goes I think we should set it for Jan 12th. That would put me 38 weeks. Then he adds "but it really doesnt matter because I dont think you are going to make it that far, I dont see you making it to New years". So the end is fast approaching. Oh and if Erick is right they will be here in 13 days.

In other, but still baby related, news... They are getting so much better at NSTs. Once again my NST today only took the 30 min.

33 weeks

Today

22 weeks...What a difference.

Really there is no new information. It is really hard to come up with what to write when you do the same thing every day. I have the TV line up memorized and have really become addicted to 2 games on addictinggames.com but other then that no news is good news.

This past weekend was the holiday family gathering for my dads side of the family. It is an ornament exchange. I had fun taking the one my cousin really wanted. hehehe Im a stinker. I ate lots of food so I am hoping for a good weight gain this week. My next appointment is Wednesday which also happens to be my birthday.

I will keep trying to do a better one but here is attempt #1
